Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)- see more

(1-5 sessions)

I am a Master Certified ART Therapist. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of bilateral brain stimulation via rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. Although techniques similar to these are used in other types of therapies, ART’s very specific and directive approach can achieve rapid recovery from symptoms and reactions that may have been present for many years. ART combines long respected, sound treatment practices with safe and effective methods validated by current scientific research studies conducted by the University of South Florida. For more information about ART please visit AcceleratedResolutionTherapy.com or contact me with further questions.

In ART, we say "keep the knowledge, lose the pain" because you will still know the facts of what happened to you, but the associated painful emotions will no longer be present.

Hi, my name is Kristi Waidhofer (she/her/hers) and I believe walking into therapy is one of the bravest gifts you can give yourself. I try to create a calm, safe environment for clients. My style is relational, warm, kind, and encouraging which makes it easy for my clients to relax. I have a genuine, down-to-earth personality and I speak to clients in much the same way that I would talk to a friend or any other person in my life. I am not just a “smile and nod” therapist nor am I just going to stare at you until you start talking. I much prefer to roll up my sleeves and “sit in the suck” with you to make real movement towards your therapy goals.

While I have experience working with adolescents, families, and adults experiencing a variety of issues, I particularly enjoy supporting folks through trauma; learning how to allow the body to become a friend instead of the enemy; walking through LGBTQIA+ concerns; and navigating chronic pain/illness. I am passionate about social justice issues and creating equity and agency for my clients. I am anti-racist, fat and sex positive, and LGBTQIA+ allied.

When I am not working with clients I enjoy listening to live music, hiking, photography, gardening, and trying to pet every animal I come into contact with.
